Lawyers re-union on March 30
The ‘Law College Batch of 1990’ has organised a dinner-dance on March
30 at the Hotel Hilton, Colombo, with the theme ‘Understated
Sophistication’, symbolised in hues of black and purple.

Dharmawardana and Attorney-at-Law Kuvera de Zoysa.
The ‘Gypsies’ will be in attendance with Channa and his dance troupe,

Laptops, motor cycle permits for dedicated Grama Niladharis

Dedicated Grama Niladharis serving the public and implementing the
Government’s livelihood development projects effectively will be
presented with laptops and tax-free motor cycle permits, Public
Administration and Home Affairs Minister W. D. J. Seneviratne said.
He said, “Even though we are ready to fulfil the needs of Grama
Niladharis and Divisional Secretaries, they must serve the well-being of
the public without being involved in corruption and malpractices”, he
said.
Twenty five Grama Niladharis who went on scholarships to Malaysia
after winning State Management competitions shared their experiences
after returning to their motherland, at a ceremony at the Public
Administration and Home Affairs Ministry auditorium recently.
Minister Seneviratne, who was the chief guest at the event, said
services and other benefits offered by the Government should directly go
to beneficiaries. The service of Grama Niladharis is crucial in
transmitting these services to the public.
Grama Niladharis should pay attention to serving the people without
seeking privileges, the Minister said.

Mohamed Mihilar Mohamed Mihar of No. 48/6, Sheik Jamaldeen Road,
Moliyamolai, Beruwala is suffering from an acute heart ailment.
Medical specialists have recommended a coronary artery bypass graft
surgery to save his life, which is estimated to cost Rs. 495,000.

Dilrukshi, aged 11 is suffering from malfunctioning of the brain and
is unable to walk without a disability equipment.
Her mother, a widow finds it difficult to purchase such an equipment
