Drypers adds more products
Sawy International importers of Drypers brand diapers from Malaysia
expanded the product range to include baby bath, baby wipes, baby talcum
and baby shampoo from Drypers.
Imported from Maaziz SDN Bhd Malaysia the Drypers range of baby
products are tested and comes in 100 ml,200 ml and 750 ml
environment-friendly packaging. All products are manufactured using oat
kernel extract, provitamin B5 and baby friendly fragrances.
The Drypers alcohol free baby wipes are packed for convenience and
can be easily used at home or while traveling to moisturise baby’s
delicate skin, said a spokesman of the company.
YNB Holdings launches Arazyme products
YNB Holdings (Pvt) Limited recently launched a range of skin, bath
and bodycare products from the Arazyme Products range in Korea.
“There are a lot of cleansers and soaps made from natural
substances,”said Executive Director of YNB Holdings (Pvt) Limited Lee.
Equipped with the Certificate of Manufacturing Formula from the
Korean Government, Arazyme Products are marketed in 26 countries, where
the range also holds patents.
Kegalle Plantations tea factories ISO certified
All Tea Factories belonging to Kegalle Plantations PLC were recently
awarded ISO 22000:2005 certification for the establishment of a food
safety management system.
The five tea producing facilities, Luckyland, Kirklees, Gampaha,
Doteloya and Yataderiya in the plantation districts of Udapussellawa,
Dolosbage and Kegalle produce almost three million Kgs of tea of the
Rotovane and Orthodox type per annum. Kegalle Plantations PLC Director/
Chief Executive Officer, Sunil Poholiyadde received the Group
Certificate of ISO 22000:2005 from N Sriram, Country Manager, SGS Lanka
(Pvt) Ltd..The Consultants M/s Praguna Management Consultants (Pvt)
Ltd., Superintendents and the management team were also present.
Kegalle Plantations PLC is a subsidiary of Richard Pieris and Co.PLC.
Union Assurance eMotor wins Celent Model Insurer Asia Award 2012
Union Assurance eMotor won the Celent Model Insurer Asia Award 2012
for‘product design/definition’. Model Insurer Asia Awards program is an
initiative by Celent to recognise the top insurance technology
creativities in the Asia Pacific Region.
The award was presented at the Celent Model Insurer Asia Summit 2012,
the Asian edition of the famous Model Insurer Awards held annually.
Model insurer component is recognition of an insurer’s effective use
of technology which assists in improving performance and thereby meeting
market demands successfully.

Astron wins PPA quiz championship 2012
Astron Limited emerged champions for the second consecutive year in
the Pharma Promoters Association (PPA) 20th Quiz Nite on March 10, 2012
at Hotel Galadari. The PPA Quiz Nite is an annual event for many
prominent pharmaceutical companies in the country.
The Pharma Promoters Association conducted the Quiz Nite for the 20th
consecutive time this year and 34 teams competed with one another to win
this coveted championship trophy. This is the 4th time that Astron has
secured the championship
Kotmale Holiday Resort under new management
Kotmale Holiday Resort which was managed by the Ceylon Hotels
Corporation under the Galle Face Hotel Group, has been taken over by
senior hotelier, Nandana Rajapakse. With the change of management, the
resort is undergoing a massive refurbishment.
The resort which had 60 rooms built in eight cottages, will in the
near future consist of 90 rooms including five deluxe rooms, one family
room and one honeymooner's ‘White Room'. The new management has
appointed a senior hotelier, Ramalee Adjumain as its consultant.
Noritake Lanka Porcelain branch in Kollupitiya
Noritake Lanka Porcelain opened an exclusive branch in Kollupitiya to
cater to high-end foreign and local visitors with an investment of Rs 5
m. Noritake Lanka Manager Marketing and Sales, Kumara Wickrama Jayaweera
said .
He said the new location will be convenient to customers. A well-
trained team of five staff members are available at the show room. It
will also be an attraction to tourists during their city tour in Colombo
which will provide customer information as well. Tours to Noritake
factory in Matale are organised from this point for those interested in
visiting the factory.
Latest designs of fine china are manufactured in Noritake's factory
in Matale. At present the company produces one million pieces of
ceramics per month. It has the capacity to manufacture 500,000 pieces.
Noritake products manufactured in Sri Lanka are exported to global
markets especially to USA, earning valuable foreign exchange.

wins Lotus Roots Award
JWT Colombo won the Lotus Roots award at ADFEST 2012 held in Pattaya,
Bangkok last month. The award was for the creation of a Vesak Pandal
centred on the story of ‘gender based violence’ for Care International
in celebration of the 2600thSambuddhathva Jayanthi.
The award was received by Regional Executive Creative Director South
East Asia, Tay Guan Hin on behalf of JWT Colombo.
Leo Burnett makes it to the Gunn Report
The Sri Lankan office of Leo Burnett made it to the prestigious Gunn
“Showreel of the year” Report with its short film, “Pass it on when
you’re done with it”. The commercial has made an appearance in the “Top
100 Creative Ideas of 2011” rankings report, which compiles the 100 most
creative pieces of advertising from the industry, globally.
