Pakistan had strong presence at Expo 2012
The delegation from the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(HCCI) visited stalls set up at the Sri Lankan Expo 2012 in Colombo. The
delegation headed by President of HCCI Gohar Ullah consisted of former
President Shafique Ahmed Qureshi, former Vice President Ziauddin,
Muhammad Shahid, Haji Muhammad Aslam Shaikh, Muhammad Sabir Shaikh and
Haji Muhammad Ismail.
The HCCI President said the aim of visiting Sri Lanka was to find
more opportunities for the Hyderabad traders' community and to introduce
the local products in international markets.
The delegation members inspected the products and technology during
the exhibition and discussed joint investment opportunities in Pakistan
with Deputy Director Promotion Board of Investment Manilal Ranasinghe.
The delegation told Ranasinghe that Sindh is the ideal province of
Pakistan for investments and there is much opportunity to place
agro-based industries in Hyderabad, because Sindh is not only wealthy in
the agriculture sector, but also in exports of seeds, fruits and
vegetables.
Ranasinghe said a delegation of Sri Lanka's Board of Investment would
visit the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce during a Pakistan tour.
He said that Sri Lankan investors were interested in joint
investments in Pakistan.
