Schoolgirls selected for special training in cricket

WOMEN’S CRICKET: Hasangi Tennekoon and Madhushika Muhandiram of
Mahamaya Girl’s College, Kandy are to under 19 cricketers who were
selected for training by the Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket Development
Section at the recently concluded Girls Schools Cricket at Maharagama
Central College grounds.
J. M. Padma Karunaratne, Level III coach of Sri Lanka Cricket who
made this selection told this correspondent that this selection was made
after studying the performances of each player. These selected girls
will be given further training early in Colombo.
The full list of the girls who were selected are: Hasangi Tennakoon
and Madhushika Muhandiram – Mahamaya Kandy, Nimasha Kavindi and Jayani
Hirunika - Maharagama Central, Chethana Madhushani and Nadeesha
Dilrukshi - Vijaya Katupotha, Himasha Seuwandi and Diluni (Philip
Artigala Vidyalaya Colombo), Harshika Wijeyasekera and Chalani (Gothami
Balika, Colombo), Ann and Manani - (Mannar District Schools), Samanmalie
and Indunil - (Sumana Balika, Ratnapura), Thakshila and Sashini -
(Pelawatte Balika - Uva).
