Marketing Director Singer Sri Lanka, Nassar Majeed said Artmatrix
Technology was the first furniture company selected from Malaysia.
"Malaysia is one of the largest furniture suppliers to Western Europe,
North America, the Middle East and other countries.
It was the first Malaysian office furniture manufacturer to be
awarded the Environmental Choice Australia Eco label", he said.
Meanwhile, Singer plans to use its furniture factory in Piliyandala
to turn out some of the products under licence from Artmatrix.
Artmarix Technology's Vice President (Sales), Francis Lau said they
selected Sri Lanka as a partner because it was a major market in South
Asia.
Several Malaysian conglomerates such as NDB Group, Sharmila Hotels
Group and CIB Bank have opened branches in Sri Lanka. Atrmarix
Technology commenced operations in Malaysia in 2005.
"We manufacture and design office furniture. We opened our first
office in Dubai in 2007 and subsequently opened showrooms in India,
Singapore, Jakarta, Oman and Mauritius", Francis Lau said.
