Lanka Hospitals celebrate International Nurses' Day

Lanka Hospital celebrated International Nurses Day on May 11 to honour nurses. On May 12, nurses' throughout the world celebrated International Nurses Day.

Director Medical Services, Dr. Wimal Karandagoda said, "We are very proud of our nurses as they play a major role in maintaining high medical standards offered at Lanka Hospitals and we dedicate this day to appreciate their hard work"

Dr Karandagoda said Lanka Hospital nurses were registered with the Sri Lanka Medical Council and was the only private hospital to have Ministry of Health approval. "The study course is 100 percent similar to government nursing training schools.

The training is given to all nurses by qualified teachers for three years in the English medium," he said. "The Lanka Hospitals nursing school is the only approved institute by the Ministry of Health of the Maldives for nurse-training for government nurses in the Maldives. "
