Gem, jewellery robbers in police net

Two suspects responsible for robbing gems and jewellery worth over Rs. 51 million in Aluthgama area have been arrested. A team of police officers from Aluthgama had apprehended the suspects in Hettimulla on Friday night.

Stolen gems and jewellery worth close to Rs. 10 million were recovered by the officers along with 9 locally manufactured T56 ammunition, several 9mm bullets and a motorcycle used in the robbery.

Aluthgama Police is conducting further investigations.
