An agreement for the establishment of
diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the Republic of
San Marino was signed by Minister of External Affairs Prof.
G.L. Peiris and Minister of Foreign Affairs of San Marino
Antonella Mularoni in Rome on Thursday.The focus in the
bilateral discussions which preceded the signing of the
agreement was on development of trade and tourism,
employment for Sri Lankans in San Marino which has an
exceptionally high per capita income, and collaboration in
the services sector.
The Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills
Development Dullas Alahapperuma opened the SCK Computer
Centre at Rahula Road, Matara recently. Here, he hands over

Construction, Engineering Services,
Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa
presented a cheque for Rs. 1.5 million to Family Health
Officer, P.D. Lalitha Padmini in recognition of her being
adjudged as one of the four best family health officers in
the Asia Pacific region, in Bangkok in 2010. The money will
be utilised to construct a house for her under the
supervision of the National Housing Development Authority.

The Shramabhimani Awards Ceremony was
held at the BMICH recently. It was organised by the
