Fête de la Musique on June 16

The Alliance Française de Colombo has again organised 'Fête de La Musique' - International Music Day at their air conditioned auditorium at Barnes Place, Colombo 7 on Saturday June 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The unique musical event 'Fête de La Musique ' began in France in 1982 and now this music festival is celebrated all over the world and every year Professional and Amateur Musicians in France take to the streets and parks on this day to celebrate the arrival of Summer after a dismal Spring.

It is free and thousands of people flock to these parks and streets where performers embrace all kinds of music. Nothing is out of place and it goes on the whole day.

In Colombo It is going to be a day full of music pop, jazz,country, western, hiphop and baila and the response has been overwhelming.

There will be many talented upcoming artistes performing together with many popular professional artistes performing as guest artistes. It is going be good music right throughout and all these artistes will be backed by Annesley Malewana and his band Super Chimes.
