Gunner Supercross in Minneriya July 8

SUPERCROSS: The Gunner Supercross is scheduled to take place on July 8 at the Artillery Complex in Minneriya, the uniquely constructed gravel track promising an aura of excitement combined with spills and thrills of motor sports similar to the six previous events that proved a great success.

This event is conducted in association with Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders.

Singer Sri Lanka (PLC), Bank of Ceylon, CEAT Kelani Holding (Pvt) and Sri Lanka Telecom (PLC) will sponsor the event with food and beverages sponsored by Elephant House. The event was introduced in 2004 under the stewardship of Major General S.D. Tennekoon RSP to generate funds for numerous welfare facilities for serving soldiers and the dependants of those who have made the supreme sacrifice .There are 13 motorcycle events, ranging from under 10 to under-13 (PW&QR) 50 CC and 85 CC for those who are under-13. In the motor car events there are 10 categories and also two for trucks and jeeps.

This year, the event will be held for the seventh successive time and motor racing fans can expect the excitement and the enthralling experience.
