Emirates Holidays picks Cinnamon Grand as best hotel

Emirates Airlines' tour operating arm, Emirates Holidays chose Cinnamon Grand Colombo as the Best Five Star City Hotel in Sri Lanka for the second year.

The rankings gave Cinnamon Grand top billing with a rating of five which is denoted as 'First class standard of accommodation, providing an excellent range of facilities and an exceptional high service level', detailed in the Emirates Holidays annual holiday guide, 'A World of Choice 2012-2013'.

Two other city hotels in Colombo have been featured, having gained ratings of four each.

The brochure ranks hotels and resorts in Africa, America, Asia, Australasia, Europe, the Indian Ocean and the Middle East, hand-picked by Emirates Holidays and rated according to its stringent independent ranking table.

"All hotels, apartments, estates, country homes, lodge and resorts we offer have been inspected to ensure that they meet the needs of the discerning holidaymaker," states the publication in its preface, which features an extensive network of 550 of the best resorts and hotels around the world. "Because hotel rating systems vary from one country to another, we have introduced our own standards.

Based on common constants and international comparisons, it ensures that you are able to compare like with like," it adds explaining the rationale behind the customised rating process, which with its quick reference symbols help identify special features for each property.

Thus, a quick reference symbol placed adjacent to the explanation of Cinnamon Grand, affirms Cinnamon Grand's spa facilities within the Angsana Spa Complex, which the brochure states offers a combination of comfort, hospitality and wellness managed by a professionally trained staff.
