The country’s first Mobile Money service eZ Cash
was launched by Dialog Axiata, the company which revolutionised the
mobile telephone market. The custodian services for this pioneering
effort will be provided by Hatton National Bank PLC, while the
Trustee will be Deutsche Bank.

Hush puppies to make its debut in Sri Lanka
The origins of Hush Puppies brand name are
clearly unsophisticated. The name was coined by the brand's first
sales manager, after a snack of deep fried corn fritters called
“hush puppys”. It was popular among American farmers to throw 'hush
puppies' at their barking dogs to quiet them.

SriLankan ties up with Oneworld

NBEA awards on December 4
Small and medium sector enterprises will exhibit
their potential and boost businesses by taking part in the National
Business Excellence Awards,(NBEA), National Chamber of Commerce
NCCSL) President, Asoka Hettigoda said. He was addressing a ceremony
to launch the NBEA. He said that a large number of SMEs has shown a
keen interest in taking part in the competition and added that a

CB policy moves bring desired results
Policy moves adopted by the Central Bank (CB)
and the Government from February this year to re-balance the
external sector of the economy are delivering expected results, a CB
monetary policy review released last week stated. It stated that
credit growth curtail and reduction of import demand have helped to
