Lanka Hospitals gets ISO certification
Lanka Hospitals completed the assurance process successfully to
receive the ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management System Certification.
“Though widely applied by food centric industries and the hospitality
industry, we recognised the need to introduce ISO 22000:2005 to our food
chain because we consider food and food safety as critical to our
overall service delivery”, said CEO of Lanka Hospitals, Lakith Peiris.
“Our catering resource is a major component of the main service
delivery though not a core function. Through the introduction of a Food
Safety Management System that fully complies with the requirements of
ISO 22000:2005, we have effectively enhanced the quality and safety of
food for patients at the time of consumption”, he said.
