'Talent and contribution to business success vital'
Passionate, competent and talented employees can take an organisation
to a new level, said Senior Vice President and Global Head HR, Taj Group
of Hotels, H.N. Srinivas.
Speaking at the International HR Conference (IHRC) 2012 on the theme,
‘Does Human Capital make the biggest difference to organisational
sustainability’, he said the concept of talent and its contribution to
business success taking examples from personal experience.
Srinivas described the manner in which members of the Taj family
responded to one of the most unfortunate catastrophes in the history of
Taj Hotels Group, when the Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai was at the centre of
a ruthless terrorist attack which put the lives of several civilians and
guests at risk which also resulted in several deaths.
He said “It was the exemplary leadership, courage and unwavering
commitment of our staff that helped us to save the lives of hundreds of
victims and also in safeguarding our property”. He paid tribute to the
Tata Group of Companies for the silent yet invaluable support they
extended towards resuming operations.
With phenomenal changes taking effect in the global business
environment, the ‘people factor’ would undoubtedly be the decisive
element in business success in the future.
