Rs 320M School for Hospitality Management launched
The Colombo Academy of Hospitality Management (CAHM) and the Sri
Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) launched a Rs. 320m
school for hospitality management at Malabe.
CAHM will collaborate with the William Angliss institute of Australia
to develop the 22,000 square foot purpose-built training facility at the
SLIIT campus.
CAHM will offer education and training curricula designed by the
William Angliss Institute a leading institute for hospitality management
in Australia and a globally recognised body in training and education in
tourism and culinary arts.
The program will be delivered by lecturers from Sri Lanka and the
William Angliss Institute. The courses will comprise degree, diploma and
certificate programs.
SLIIT President and CEO, Lalith Gamage said that students will have
access to facilities and resources of a full-scale higher education
institute and benefits of a campus environment.
"Students will be introduced to a host of career opportunities
through William Angliss' comprehensive training. Our aim is to be the
premier hospitality and hotel industry training institute in Sri Lanka,"
he said. CAHM Chairman, Errol Weerasinghe said that as more
international hotel chains seek to expand in the region the industry
needs skills and talents to compete in the fast-evolving global
industry.
Students will be enrolled in January 2013.
