Lankem to paint Dalada Maligawa
Lankem Paints Ltd, manufacturers and marketers of Robbialac Paints
will paint the Dalada Maligawa complex in Kandy for the forthcoming
Esala Perahera.
The annual 'Varna Pooja' is now a tradition and part of the many
rituals associated with the Dalada Maligawa before the annual Esala
Perahera.
The Kandy Esala Perahera begins with the Kumbal Perahera on July 23
and attracts thousands of devotees from all parts of Sri Lanka and
numerous foreign visitors from various parts of the globe.
It ends with the Randoli Perahera on August 1. It is followed by the
Day Perahera on August 2 and then the traditional Water Cutting ceremony
at Getambe.
Director Lankem Ruwan T. Weerasinghe said, "It is our privilege to
paint the Dalada Maligawa for the Kandy Esala Perahera. We consider it
an honour to contribute to Sri Lanka's culture and heritage through
initiatives such as this.
