‘Failure to obtain dpl posting - Frederica’s bitterness’

Sunday Leader editor Frederica Jansz had been critical of Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa since he had prevented her from obtaining a diplomatic posting abroad, said Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

The minister said that Frederica had met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees in the company of former Airport and Aviation Chairman Gamini Abeyratna and requested that she be posted abroad as a diplomat.

The Minister said that the Defence Secretary on hearing of it had objected to any favours being granted to Frederica.

This was made known by Minister Rambukwella at the weekly Cabinet press briefing at the Media Ministry.
