SLC Inter-club Under-23 Cricket:

CCC beat BRC by six wickets

CCC beat BRC by six wickets before the tea break on the second day in the SLC Under-23 three-day cricket encounter played at BRC grounds yesterday.

Right arm leg spinner Sachithra Perera excelled for CCC with a match bag of nine wickets for 35 runs. Perera took six for 20 in the first innings and three for 15 in the second innings to earn the man of the match award.

CCC: 218 in 53.1 overs (Dushan Vimukthi 33, Naveen Kavikara 24 n.o).

BRC - 1st innings: 152 in 44 overs (Yasitha Abeykoon 51, Fahim Saleem 20, Madushan Ravichandrakumar 32, Sachithra Perera 6/20, Vikum Sanjaya 3/51).

Second innings:- 104 in 31.4 overs (Madusha Ravichandra 20, Sachithra Perera 3/15, Naveen Kavikara 3/24, Dushan Vimukthi 2/20).

CCC - 1st innings : 218 in 53.1 overs (Dushan Vimukthi 33, Naveen Kavikara 24 n.o).

Second innings: 49/4 in 10.3 overs (Nandalal 17 n.o, Indika Masalage 16 n.o, Randika Alwis 4/17).

Ruvinda – a sparkling 160

Ruvindu Sharmen scored a brilliant 160 runs for Bloomfield in their first innings against Navy at the Bloomfield grounds yesterday. Koshan Dhanushka too contributed with a fine half century (84) and help Bloomfield to get a commanding total of 304.

Navy - 1st innings: 140 in 38.2 overs (Yohan Kumara 51 n.o, Buddhika Alwis 27, Duleeka Tissakutti 25, Imran Khan 5/27, Nipun Karunanayake 2/17).

Second innings: 165/3 in 48.4 overs (R Ranaweera 52, C Ruwansiri 70, Nipun Karunanayake 2/31).

Bloomfield - 1st innings: 304 in 87.1 over (Ruvinda Sharmen 160, Naveed Ghany 66, Koshan Dhanushka 84, Sujeewa Liyanage 3/16, Dulanjana Mendis 3/107).

Moors lead by 119 runs

Moors lead by 119 runs with seven wickets in their hand against Ragama CC in their inter-club under-23 cricket match played at Colts grounds yesterday. Dhananjaya de Silva and Eranga Ratnayake batted well and scored two valuable half centuries for Ragama CC.

Moors - 1srst innings: 277 in 81.2 overs (Nipun Karunanayake 52, Lakshan Rangika 46, Chamikara Edirisinghe 31, Imran Raafik 27, Nisala Tharaka 5/50, Chalana de Silva 2/45).

Second innings: 98/3 in 26 overs (Ishanm Ghouse 60 n.o).

Ragama CC: First innings -256 in 64.2 overs (Dhananjaya de Silva 87, Eranga Ratnayake 82, Madhuka Liyanapathirana 4/60, Nipun Kariyawasam 3/32, Lakshan Rangika 2/19).

Angelo – third century

Angelo Emmanuel cracked a blistering 112 runs to earn his third century in the tournament and helped Air Force to pile up 416 against Army in their Under-23 battle played at Rifle Green yesterday.

Air Force dominated by batting throughout the second day. At stump, Army seven for no loss.

Army - 1stt innings: 287 in 61.5 overs (Chathura Damith 81, Sanjeewa Dickumbura 33, Suresh Peiris 31, Priyan Weerasinghe 31 n.o, Buddhika Sandaruwan 7/82, Sohan Randhika 2/83).

Second innings: 7/1 in8 overs.

Air Force - 1st innings: 416 in 106.3 overs (Angelo Emmanuel 112, Asanka Gihan 65, Roscoe Thattil 49, Shanaka Shaninda 44, Anushka Samaratunga 6/100, Sriyan Weerasinghe 2/36).
