Mayantha stars in St Servatius' 9 wkt win over Debarawewa

CRICKET: Four wickets for 21 runs and an unbeaten 78 with 10 fours and a six by Mayantha Abeydeera saw St Servatius College, Matara register a nine wicket win over Debarawewa National School. The under 17 division one cricket match was played at the Debarawewa NS grounds on Monday (16th) July. Debarawewa NS batting first were restricted to 176 in 47.3 overs. Mayantha Abeydeera 4/21; Sanjika Ridma 3/25 and Chanuka Dilshan 3/30 shared the wickets. S. Mihiran who has been consistent throughout the tournament scored 44 runs for Debarawewa N.C. 48 balls which included six boundaries and a six. The Debarawewa bowlers could not get through the defences of Mayantha Abeydeera of St. Servatius 78 not out. Lochana Mohotti was unbeaten on 68. Together they shared an unbroken 156 run partnership for the second wicket.
