Kandy in easy 47-7 win over CR

Kandy SC scored an easy 47 points (two goals, six tries and a penalty) to 7 (one goal) win over CR and FC in their Caltex 'A' Division Rugger League match played at Nittawela yesterday.

At half time Kandy led 18-7.

The try scorers for Kandy were prop Meenea Katu Kio, ccentr Etu Wali Lohio. Fly half Fazi Marija, scrum half Roshan Weeraratne (2), centre Oshan Perera, fly half Tharindu Chanaka, wingers Dharshana Ettipola and Danushka Dayan. Tharindu Chanaka and Roshan Weeraratne made the conversions.

For CR and FC skipper and winger Lasintha de Costa made a daring 90 meter sprint to score the only try for the losers.

Costa himself added the extra points.

Prior to the commencement of the match the two teams were introduced to the CEO of Cargills Food City A. Wahid. Cargills Food City are the sponsors of the Kandy team.
