CHESS: Players of Lyceum International School, Nugegoda and Lyceum
International School, Wattala fared well at the Inter-International
Schools Chess Championship. Lyceum International School, Nugegoda
emerged champions in the under 14 age group and were runners-up in the
under 12 age group. The tournaments were organised and conducted for the
fifth consecutive year by Lyceum International School, Nugegoda. There
were 52 teams from 13 International Schools from all over the island
that participated.
At the awards ceremony, Principal of Lyceum International School
Nugegoda - Ms Wenuri Hettiarachchi was the chief guest. Under 12:
Champions Lyceum International School, Wattala, 1st runner-up: Gateway
College, Kandy, 2nd Runner-up: Lyceum International School, Nugegoda.
Under 14: Champions: Lyceum International School, Nugegoda, 1st
Runner-up: Gateway College, Kandy. 2nd Runner-up: Regent International
College.
Under 17: Champions: Alethea International School, 1st Runner-up:
Lyceum International School, Wattala, Second Runner-up: Gateway College.
