Deeds for Colombo flat occupants

Construction, Engineering Services and Housing Minister Wimal Weerawansa presented the deeds of the flats at Seevalipura, Gothamipura and Aramaya Road, Borella to occupants at a ceremony at Dr. N.M. Perera Community Hall, Seevalipura, Borella.

The occupants had a long-standing grievance that they had not received the deeds despite the value of the flats being paid to the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) sometime ago.

The reason for the delay in issuing deeds was due to the ownership of the land not being vested with the NHDA. The deeds were issued after a directive by Minister Weerawansa. -LSAW
