Browns to build Rs. 1.75b hotel
Browns Investments PLC, an entity owned by Brown
and Company will expand its leisure sector by constructing a
star-class,150-room hotel in Kosgoda at a cost of Rs. 1.75b. Work on
the project commenced in May this year. It has provision to increase
the number of rooms to 172.

EFC to train visually impaired
The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon (EFC) will
launch a six-month IT training program for eight visually impaired
persons in Vavuniya on August 2. The course funded by the ILO-LEED
program, will be conducted at the recently refurbished ORHAN
Training Centre by Ms. Manique Guneratne, an EFC employee, who is

Asia Leisure, Japan Capital invests $ 1.8m
Asia Leisure a subsidiary of the Asia Capital
Group Ltd and Japan Capital(Pvt) Ltd will invest $ 1.8m in a
33-suite hotel in Wadduwa. Japan Capital will hold 22 percent of the
shares, while the balance will be held by Asia Leisure Ltd.
