Infrastructure projects expedited in Jaffna

Infrastructure development projects have been expedited in the Jaffna district to resettle the remaining displaced persons in the district, Jaffna district Government Agent Sundaram Arumainayagam said.

He said people were not keen to resettle in areas where landmines and other dangerous explosives had been removed. Due to this, it was decided to develop infrastructure facilities to encourage their resettlement, according to GA Arumainayagam.

Land in Thellippalai area is being cleared with the help of machinery, Arumainayagam said.Electricity has been provided to these areas.
