Super diesel and super petrol to be popularised

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) will launch a campaign to encourage vehicle owners to use supper diesel and super petrol, said a CPC spokesman.

He said that refined fuel should be used for vehicles of recent manufacture.

The contaminated diesel damaged over 250 SLTB buses 1,000 private buses and 50 train engines recently. Meanwhile, the CPC is conducting tests to alter the composition of diesel to suit the vehicle engines. It is reported that there are over 75,000 tons of contaminated diesel in CPC depots at present.
