ISF focuses on security personnel training
The Executive committee of the Industrial Security Foundation
organised a seminar on 'Basic Security Awareness' for security guards
and supervisors recently at the Kandy Club, Kandy.
Presentations were made namely 'Basic Security Documentation and
Prevention of Crimes and Offences in an Organization by Wazir, Sourjah,
DIMM (UK) FISF; Effective Communications, by Wing Cmdr Rtd, Pradeep
Kannangara, RSP, Dip PM, MBA (Aus), FISF and All island JP; Body
Building/Vehicle and Parcel searches, by Lt. Col. Janaka Ritigahapola,
RSP psc, FISF; Fire Safety and fire fighting, by K.K.D.S. Senarathne,
FISF; responsibilities, discipline and grooming of a security officer
and client expectations from a security service, by Retired DIG, FISF,
D.M.T.B. Dissanayake.
The sessions were inaugurated by ISF President Lal Wewala,
Certificates were also awarded to those who had participated after a
panel discussion and the vote of thanks by Ranjith Perera, the ISF
Secretary.
Capt. Ganesh Mendis, a past President of the ISF was the Master of
Ceremonies.
