'Capitalism and Peace' on Aug 30

A lecture on 'Capitalism and Peace' will be delivered by the Warden, S. Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia Dr. Indra de Soysa, on Thursday August 30 at 6pm at the auditorium of the Organisation of Professionals Association of Sri Lanka (OPA), Prof Stanley Wijesundera Mawatha, Colombo 7.

The event is organised by the British Scholars' Association of Sri Lanka. It is open to the public.

RASSL symposium tomorrow

The Royal Asiatic Society Sri Lanka (RASSL) will hold a symposium on 'Anicuts and Canals in Ancient Water Management: New Findings' on August 27 at 5.00 p.m. at the Gamini Dissanayake Auditorium, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Colombo 7.

The symposium is open to the public.

Peradeniya alumni to stage Debiddo

The Colombo Chapter of the Alumni Association of the University of Peradeniya will stage Debiddo a hilarious comedy directed by Prasanna Vithanage on September 2, at 6.30 pm at New Town Hall, Colombo.

Jayalath Manoratne, Jayani Senanayake and Jayasri Chandrajith will play the lead roles of the comedy, written by Nobel laureate Dario Fo.
