Dineshkanthan-men's champ

Defending national singles champion T. Dineshkanthan was supreme once again when he beat unseeded Tanveer Ashiq in straight sets 6-2,6-4 and 6-2 in the final of the men's singles at the 97th National Tennis Championships - Super 'A' grade at the SLTA courts Greenpath yesterday.

In the women's singles final the defending champion Amritha Muttiah defeated Nethmi Waduge also in straight sets 6-6, 6-3. Dineshkanthan beat Shamal Dissanayake 7-6 (2), 3-6,7-6 (0), 6-2 and Tanveer Ashiq beat Nishangan Nadarajah 6-2,7-6 (2) 5-7,6-4 in the semi-finals.

In the women's semi finals Nethmi Waduge beat Shanakan Thayakaran 6-4,6-4 and Amritha Muttiah defeated Thewuni Devaraja 6-2,6-2.
