Batting first Joseph Vaz made 142 runs with Shehara Ranatunga making the top score of 25 runs while K. T. Jayawickrama bagged 3 for 10 for Holy Cross in reply, visitors scored 143 for 9 with K. H. Vajirarathna and T. S. Perera scoring 39 runs each.
