Zahira hold STC to a draw

Zahira College, Colombo held S. Thomas' College Mount Lavinia to a
scoreless draw on the opening day of the schools all island under 16
Division One ten a side rugby tournament organised by the Sri Lanka
Schools Rugby Football Association and the Central Province Rugby
Football Association which began at the Bogambara Stadium, Kandy
yesterday. The matches will be continued today at 8 a.m. and the cup
finals will be played at 4.30 p.m.
Heavy rain fell during the day and this was not conducive to fast
open rugby.

Kingswood College beat Zahira College 31-0, S. Thomas' College, Mount
Lavinia beat Maliyadeva College 22-0, Royal College beat St. Thomas
College, Matale 22-0, Vidyartha College beat St. Sylvesters College
19-0, Isipathana College beat D. S. Senanayake College 26-0, St.
Joseph's College beat Lumbini College 5-0, Prince of Wales College beat
St. Anthony's College 10-0, Trinity College beat Dharmapala College,
Pannipitiya 32-0, Dharmaraja College beat Ananda College 24-0, Mahanama
College beat St. Benedict's College 27-0.
Vidyartha College beat St. Thomas College 15-0, D. S. Senanayake
College beat Royal College, Panadura 12-0, C. W. W. Kannangara Vidyalaya
beat Lumbini College 14-0.
