Singer Finance appoints two directors

Singer Finance recently appointed two business personalities Ms. Marina Tharmaratnam and J.A. Setukavalar as independent directors to the Company's Board, a media release from the company said.

As independent directors, Ms. Tharmaratnam and Setukavalar will be relied on to ensure that the Board always acts in the best interests of shareholders and to provide strategic guidance to the company, the release stated. Ms. Tharmaratnam has served as the Director and CEO of Union Assurance PLC, Executive Vice President of DFCC Bank, and Company Secretary, Director and General Manager of Eagle Insurance, among many other prominent positions. Her wealth of experience in the financial services sector will allow her to offer advice.

She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Fellow of Institute of Management Accountants of Sri Lanka, a Chartered Marketer and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
