Richmond hold Royal to a draw

Royal were held to a draw in their curtain raiser Under-19 cricket
match for the season against Richmond, Galle at Reid Avenue yesterday.
Richmond were set to make 222 runs for a win in the last session
after tea, were 175 for 5 in 39 overs.
Royal batted first on the first day and scored 273 for 6 wickets
declared with Roanaka Ahangamage (34), Sampath de Silva (41), Hashen
Ramamnayake (53), Milan Abeysekera (63) and skipper Devin Pathmanathan
(43) making useful contributions.
Richmond in reply were 82 for 4 overnight and were all out for 190
with Sithara Gimhana, Charith Asalanka and Wasidu Hasaranga all being
dismissed in the thirties.
Royal in their second essay declared their innings at 138 for 6 with
Ahangamage and Milan Abeysekera doing the bulk of the scoring.
