Lanka Hospitals reaches milestone
The Fertility Centre of Lanka Hospitals recorded the 400th IVF baby
recently, reaching a milestone in the assisted reproduction process.
"This is the highest number recorded by any fertility centre in the
country. Since the centre set up the IVF facility in 2008, the Fertility
Centre has recorded a 43 percent success rate which is on par with
international standards.
The centre also accounts for 150 ongoing pregnancies," Lanka
Hospitals CEO, Lakith Peiris said.
"The success rate of the Fertility Centre at Lanka Hospitals is on
par with best IVF centres in the world. The professional staff and the
support of the management have been the plus points in making this a
centre of excellence," he said.
The emphasis on clinical care and stringent quality control measures
which the hospital constantly monitors has paved the way for improved

healthcare institution, he said.
Lanka Hospitals follows European protocols and has invested
substantial funds to bring in the latest technology in its curative and
treatment processes. The Fertility Centre was built in 2007 with an
investment of Rs 75 million.
