Senkadagala U-15 cricket champions

Senkadagala beat Sabaragamuwa in the Inter-Association under 15
cricket tournament final organised by the Central Province Cricket
Association for the Yasaratne Tennakoon Memorial Trophy. The final was
played at the Police grounds, Kandy.
There were eight teams that participated in the tournament which
included Senkadagala, Sabaragamuwa, Udadumbara, Kanda Udarata and
Pathadumbara and others. The final between Senkadagala and Sabaragamuwa
was restricted to 30 overs due to bad weather. Batting first
Sabaragamuwa were all out for 95 in 29.1 overs and Senkadagala made 96
for 5 wickets in 23 overs.
Sabaragamuwa: 95 in 29.1 overs (T. Dodanwala 13, L. Kumara 12, D.
Ariyaratne 23, S. Sangeeth 4 for 12, D. Pathirana 2 for 18).
Senkadagala: 96 for 5 wkts in 23 overs (S. Amarasinghe 12, T.
Liyanage 47 not out; A. Chandrasiri 2 for 6).
Mrs. Jayanthi Tennakoon nee Jayasundera, wife of late Yasaratne
Tennakoon, former MP for Kandy District was an outstanding netball
player and an athlete at Mahamaya Girls College, Kandy.
