STF raids on ganja cultivations, a resounding success
The three-day operation launched by the Special
Task Force (STF) and the Walana Vice Squad in the state forest
reserves of Udawalawe was successfully completed with the uprooting
and destruction of several ganja (Cannabis Sativa) plants in the
thick jungle last week. Around 300 Special Task Force (STF)
Commandos and 30 police officers from the Walana Vice Squad were

Army inquiry into Channel 4 allegations continue
The Army Court of Inquiry continues to follow
the second phase of their mandate to investigate allegations on
summary execution of captured LTTE terrorists pointed out in a
documentary by the UK-based TV channel Channel 4. "The investigation
is an on going process and the same Court of Inquiry will be
conducting the investigations," Military spokesman Brigadier Ruwan
