Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa, recently opened 'AR Hospitality' a one-stop showroom of M.C. Abdul Rahim and Bros. (Pvt) Ltd in Colombo 3. Abdul Rahims (AR) has been one of the leading suppliers to the hospitality, hospital and industrial sector for many years.

Minister of Public Management Reforms, Naveen Dissanayake was the guest of honour. Chairman of the company, Rizvi Hussain said that with the number of tourist arrivals projected to increase to 2.5 million by 2016 and the number of hotel rooms to be increased to 50,000 from the current 16,000, the company planned to refocus and target the emerging hospitality sector.

They perceived the need to set up a location to cater to the increased demand for hospitality related items. With this idea emerged 'AR Hospitality', a one-stop showroom where F and B Managers, purchasing managers, architects, interior designers, chefs or even managing directors can source all their purchases, he said.

AR will put together Sri Lanka's top brands under one roof allowing customers to buy the products they require with ease, he said.
