"The technology is aimed at low-power requirements in market segments
from smartphones to the data centre.
Silvermont will be the foundation for a range of innovative products
due to come into the market later this year, and will be manufactured
using the company's leading-edge, 22nm Tri-Gate SoC manufacturing
process," a spokesman for the company said.
"Silvermont is an entirely new technology foundation suitable for a
broad range of products and market segments," said Country Business
Manager, Intel EM Limited, Sri Lanka Liaison office, Indika de Zoysa.
"Early sampling of our 22nm SoCs, including 'Bay Trail' and 'Avoton'
are receiving positive feedback from customers. Going forward, we will
accelerate future generations of this low-power micro-architecture on a
yearly cadence."
"Concurrently, Intel is manufacturing its next-generation, 22nm
Haswell micro-architecture for Intel Core processors to enable full-PC
performance at lower power levels for innovative '2-in-1' form factors,"
he said. |
