Car goes over precipice - three injured

Three persons sustained serious injuries when the car they were travelling in went over a precipice in Ginigathhena yesterday morning, police said. The group from Moratumulla were on their way to attend a funeral in Pundaluoya when the accident occurred around 4.30am, the Police spokesman said.

The injured were rushed to the Ginigathhena Hospital and later transferred to the Nawalapitiya Hospital for further treatment.

The Tata Nano car which fell into the 13ft precipice was badly damaged, the police said.
