Youth cinematic harvest film festival

Sri Lanka Youth Cinematic Harvest Film Festival 2-2012 organized by the National Youth Services Council will be held from June 24 to 27 at Namel Malani Punchi Theatre, Borella, under the patronage of Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development Dullas Alahapperuma.

Shows will start at 6.00 pm every day under the participation of Veteran film Journalists and Cinema Critics, Sunil Mihidukula, Ajith Galppaththi, Nuwan Nayanajith and Gamini Jayalath as chief guests each day. One hundred and thirteen short films and thirty documentary film scripts are included in the competition. out of which Fifteen short films and fifteen documentary films were qualified for the semi final round and they will be shown at the Film Festival.

After this ten short films and ten documentary films for the final round would be selected. Four hundred seventeen applicants registered for the workshop and the participants were also given the exclusive opportunity to participate at a special three days workshop conducted by veteran film makers. The workshop was conducted on short and documentary films focusing on the use of sophisticated tools, screen scripts, directing, producing, editing and digital cinema.
