NWSDB committees to check water

Special Committees have been appointed by the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, to supervise and investigate into the hygienic condition and suitability, in the drinking water, at district level.

The main purpose behind the setting up of these special committees is to check, supervise and investigate into the drinking water which usually gets polluted due to various human activities in their day to day life. Intellectuals, experts and highly knowledgeable specialised persons who have vast experience and knowledge of drinking water, water sources and scientific methods of water-purifying have been appointed for these committees.

The first meeting of this venture was held at the Kalutara District Secretary's auditorium presided by the Kalutara GA, U.D.C. Jayalal, said the Kalutara district media unit's Chief Press Officer W. Shanthapriya to Sunday Observer recently.
