Bogala Graphite to explore more deposits
Bogala Graphite Plc. plans to explore more land for the long-standing
export mineral for which the country has become famous. The company
announced in a recent stock market disclosure that it has received
approval from the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau to explore two new
graphite deposits in the Kegalle and Kalutara districts.
SLAF 33rd Intake to celebrate anniversary
The 33rd Intake of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) will celebrate its
44th anniversary (1969 – 2013) in November, with an excursion to Stable
Hill, Diyatalawa, where the Airmen underwent training at the Ground
Combat and Recruit Training Unit of the Royal Ceylon Air Force, 44 years
ago.

Seminar in Puttalam
The Information Department is conducting seminars in all districts to
educate provincial mediamen on development work being carried out in the
country.
A seminar will be held in this connection on July 2 at the Puttalam
District Secretariat.
The key note address will be delivered by the Director of Higher
Institute for Legal Education Dr. D.M. Karunaratne veteran media
personnel will address the provincial media men in Puttalam district.
WASLAM Pre-Ramazan sale
The Women’s Association of Sri Lanka Malays (WASLAM) will celebrate
its thrid anniversary with pre-Ramazan sale on June 30 from 10 am to 6
pm at the Malay Cricket Club – Padang, Off Kew Road, Colombo 2.
Songs and dance including a cultural show will be one of the
highlights of the day.
GFS Hall turns 90
The Girls’ Friendly Society (GFS) will conduct a thanksgiving service
this evening to mark the 90th anniversary of the GFS Hall which was
opened on June 23, 1923.
Poson dansala
The Crow Island Beach Park Management Society will hold a Poson Poya
dansala for the sixth consecutive year at the Sri Bodhirajarama Vihara,
Crow Island, Colombo 15 on June 23 at 7 p.m.
Old Zahirians fellowship on June 29
The Zahira College Old Boys’ Association will commemorate the 120th
anniversary of the College with a fellowship dinner on Saturday, June
29, 2013 at the College.

has been diagnosed by Senior Paediatric Hepatalogist, Dr. Naresh P.
Shanmugam of Global Health City, India as being afflicted with
Cholestatic liver disease, which needs liver transplantation. The
approximate cost of the surgery is estimated to be around US $ 45,000.
