CEAT achieves record sales
CEAT Kelani Holdings has achieved record sales of car and van radial
tyres in May 2013, enabling it to increase its market share in this
product segment to a dominant 30 per cent. Last May, sales of CEAT
radial tyres exceeded 20,000, a company spokesman said.
"Surpassing 20,000 radial tyres per month is a key milestone for us.
We anticipated this growth and have already planned expansion to double
our capacity," said Managing Director of CEAT-Kelani, Raman Rajagopalan.
"We have added many new sizes in the car and van categories, which has
facilitated growth."
"Today radial sales account for more than 20 percent of CEAT-Kelani's
annual revenue, and with more new sizes for cars and SUVs in the
pipeline, we expect our volumes to increase and drive growth."
CEAT radial tyres manufactured in Sri Lanka are exported to 14
countries and expansion of capacity would enable the company to cater to
rising demand in the international market, he said.
"We now have more than 850,000 users of CEAT radials in Sri Lanka,
and an unaided brand recall of 90 percent, competing in a segment with
many global leaders," said Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Ravi
Dadlani. "This is excellent progress that justifies expansion and
upgrading of our radial production facilities in Sri Lanka." |
