CA Sri Lanka exams in Qatar
The strategic level examinations of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) went global recently, turning a
new chapter in the institute's 53-year history.
The strategic level exams in Qatar for CA Sri Lanka students who live
and work there commenced this month and will end next month.
The CA Sri Lanka overseas examinations are conducted under strict
standards with CA Sri Lanka invigilators supervising the examinations in
Qatar to ensure that standards are adhered to as practiced in Sri Lanka.
CA Sri Lanka President Sujeewa Rajapakse said, "This will strengthen our
position as a global player in the accounting world."
He said the institute has over 41,000 students and some of these
students who have completed the preliminary stages have secured
employment overseas and it is for their benefit that the CA examinations
are being held so they can complete their course of study.
"We have a considerable number of members and students serving in
various positions in the Middle East including in Qatar and in other
parts of the world, and as a pilot project we decided to hold the
examinations in Qatar," he said. |
