Infotel 2013 in October

Infotel will hold its 2013 edition from October 24-27 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre according to the organisers, the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS).

Infotel 2013 will concurrently take place with the World Summit Awards organised by ICTA. Organising committee chairman, Managing Director of Sala Enterprises, Chinthaka Wijewickrema said that the event was anticipating about 30,000 visitors. The theme this year 'Enhancing lives'. He said that they had added many new categories, that included healthcare, education, tourism, medical science, transportation and agriculture.

Wijewickrema said that since these industries now played a key role in the business arena and were aggressively growing, the committee had decided to showcase how IT can be best used to improve these industries.

Infotel will feature up to 220 stalls including Social Media, Green Computing, Gaming, Cloud Computing, Virtualisation, Mobile Apps, Business Intelligence and ERP, Cyber Security, Business Process Outsourcing,KPO's, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity, Data Centre's, Back Process Outsourcing, Office Automation and Communications, Education and Training Wijewickrema said, "This year's Infotel will be unique as it will not be limited to showcasing ICT products and gadgets but will be one of international standard and a meeting place for corporates, buyers, sellers, recruiting companies, career seekers and IT enthusiasts."

"Infotel 2013 will enable local and international exhibitors to promote their products and solutions," he said.

Wijewickrema said, "Infotel 2013 offers an ideal platform for ICT stakeholders in Sri Lanka and other countries to explore and capitalise on the new growth and wealth creation opportunities in the country."
