Hameedia Father’s Day promo

Suranga Fernando of Colombo 4, won three return air tickets to Singapore in the Father's Day promotion conducted by Hameedia.

His daughter Kiyara's (a Grade five student) letter about her father was among the hundreds of entries received from different parts of Sri Lanka over a two and a half week period. In addition to the grand prize, 15 lucky families were also invited to a five-star dining experience at the Taj Samudra. The enthusiasm it generated was overwhelming while some of the entries were inspiring and moving,” Hameedia, Managing Director Fouzul Hameed said.


BoC launches NRFC rewards scheme

The Bank of Ceylon (BoC) launched the ‘Bank of Ceylon NRFC Wasana’ and ‘Bank of Ceylon Cash Remitts Reward Scheme’ and three more draws last week to reward its Non-Resident Foreign Currency (NRFC) account holders, Ran-Kekulu Foreign Currency (RKFC) accounts holders and Foreign Remittance customers.

“These rewards schemes will give customers not just one, but five opportunities to win millions in cash prizes and other gifts, and are ahead of rewards schemes offered in the foreign currency sector up to now,” a spokesman for the bank said.


Robbialac launches colour matching app

Lankem Robbialac recently launched a colour matching application through smart phones. This novel application enables users to completely change or mix and match the colour of any surface in a virtual environment.

The application could be downloaded from Android and soon on IOS App Store free and the Robbialac Colour Explorer App could be used to take a picture of the desired surface.

When selecting colours from Robbialac Emulsion or Weathercoat one can tap on the surface and get it painted with the selected colour and experience the effect of the colour on your wall and against the other decor.


Sampath credit card cinema incentive

A promotion is on for Sampath credit cardholders at the Majestic City Cineplex. Under this scheme, a credit cardholder will be charged only for one ticket when a reservation is made for two, to view two movies, ‘Fast and Furious 6’ and ‘World War Z’ at Ultra and Platinum 3D cinema theatres of Majestic City Cineplex, today and on July 6 and 7.

They could call on the dedicated number to make their reservations and make payments through the credit card.

WSO2 introduces Stratos

WSO2 recently introduced the Stratos 2.0, a complete, open enterprise-grade platform as a service (PaaS). “WSO2 Stratos 2.0 features cartridge-based architecture, which combines support for heterogeneous applications and service-oriented architecture (SOA) platform run-times with native, secure multi-tenancy.

WSO2 introduced the latest release of Stratos at GigaOm Structure in San Francisco,” a spokesman for the company said.
