Waidyatilaka to officiate at World University Games

PHD Waidyatilaka the IAAF International Technical Official is invited
to officiate as an ITO at the 27th World University Games in Kazan,
Russia which will be held from 6th to 17th July.This is the fourth
consecutive occasion Waidyatilaka was invited for this prestigious
biennial event.
In 2007 he officiated at the 24th Universiade in Bangkok and at
Shenshen China in 2011. Waidya was invited for the 2009 Games in
Belgrade, Serbia, but he had to excuse himself from the Games as it fell
on the identical days as the IAAF World Youth Championships in
Bressanone, Italy for which too Waidya was invited. As an IAAF official
priority had to be given to the IAAF event.
Even on this occasion, Waidyatilaka was invited for the Asian
Championships in Pune which again clash with the time table of the
Universiade and as he has already consented to officiate in Kazan he
will miss the Asian Championships. |
