Nawaloka Hospital opens Urodynamics Centre

Nawaloka Hospital opened an Advanced Urodynamics Centre with Markks Healthcare and Laborie, Canada. Supported by Laborie Aquarius TT diagnostic technology, it offers the latest testing methods and treatment of urinary tract dysfunctions.

Problems such as incontinence usually increase with age, pregnancy, childbirth and the onset of menopause. Some of the problems faced by people today include urinary incontinence, urinary retention, faecal incontinence, sexual disorders and dysfunctional or immature voiding.

Such recurrent bladder infections can be monitored by conducting urodynamic tests, which allows doctors to determine the causes of symptoms. "Imported at a cost of Rs. 10 million, the Aquarius TT is a solution for the evaluation and diagnosis of lower urinary and faecal tract dysfunctions," a spokesman for the hospital said.
