SLTB revenue up due to raids

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Special Investigation Unit
collected over Rs. 950,783 in raids and operations conducted from
January to May this year, SLTB Special Investigation Unit Director Upali
Gunasekera said.
Over 2,759 ticket less passengers were fined. Around 662 ticket
frauds, 1,842 other irregularities and minor offences committed by
errant conductors were also detected. Instances of violating
instructions and orders issued by the Headquarters have been dealt with.
In addition 68,362 mobile inspections were also carried out in buses
during the period. The number of mobile inspections and raids has been
increased to further check these irregularities, Gunasekera further
said. |
