Pura Naguma to develop Wayamba

The Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils will provide 50 million rupees for 13 local bodies in Kurunegala – Puttalam districts under the “Pura Naguma” development project.

These funds are primarily meant to develop infrastructural facilities in these areas said Deputy Local Government and Provincial Councils Minister Indika Bandaranayake at a media conference at Panduwasnuwara in Kurunegala recently. Weekly fairs, rural roads and schools will be modernized to the benefit of residents in Giribawa, Bingiriya, Ridigama, Mawathagama, Polpithigama, Udubaddawa, Alawwa, Kalpitiya, Nawagattegama, Arachchikattuwa, Wanathawilluwa, Chilaw and Kuliyapitiya.

Health projects such as rural hospitals, maternity clinics and central dispensaries too would be provided to benefit low-income families of Kurunegala and Puttalam districts, the Deputy Minister said.
