Seminar on Korean Acupuncture Treatment held
A seminar on 'Korean Acupuncture Treatment' was held at the Korean
Clinic, National Ayurvedic Teaching Hospital, Borella recently, where
nine Ayurvedic doctors presented articles about the effectiveness of
Acupuncture treatment. Dr. K. Dharmmike Lokugamage received the first
Honour prize for his presentation.
A study of Effectiveness of Acupuncture and Blood Letting Treatment
for Knee joint pain and swelling' and Dr. A.R.R. Shalika the second
Honour prize for "Korean Acupuncture treatment for viral fever" and S.
Kayamala the third for "A Clinic study of Efficacy of Infrared therapy
with Acupuncture Treatment on Knee joint Arthritis cases".
A special planing article: "A Study on Type 1 Diabetes by using
Yangdorak Diagnosis Machine" authored by Dr. Han Gyu-Eon and Dr. S.K.P.
Widyarathna was also presented.
Nine articles which were presented at seminar were recorded in the
book.
"The journal of acupuncture in Sri Lanka": this journal was secondly
published about Acupuncture Medicine in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka Ayurvedic doctors have studied Korean Acupuncture from
2004. At present 133 doctors have completed a course in acupuncture and
have treated patients by acupuncture, electric acupuncture, cupping
therapy, moxbustion therapy, and physical therapy.
CHO, Sang Woo, Resident Representative of KOICA in Sri Lanka
And Dr. Han Gyu-eon, KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency),
World Friends Advisor, Consultant Physician of Korean Clinic in National
Ayurvedic Teaching Hospital Colombo were also present. |
